PSPS Grant for Junior Members (2026 Edition)

 

Regulations of the Grant of the Polish Social Psychological Society (PSPS) for Funding Research Projects Conducted by Junior Members

 

§1. Purpose of the Competition
1. The purpose of the competition is to award funding for empirical research projects aimed at testing pre-registered hypotheses related to social psychology. The project must conclude with the submission of results in the form of an English-language publication (in accordance with §5, point 1).
2 .The funding amount per applicant may be up to 10,000 PLN.

§2. Eligibility and Participation Conditions
1. Participation in the competition implies acceptance of these regulations and consent to the processing of the personal data of all co-authors presented in the research application, as well as the publication of their names on the psps.badania.net website in the event of receiving funding.
2. Granted funds may only be used to conduct the research described in the application using the research panel https://www.prolific.co/ or a Polish panel recommended by the Program for Quality Control of Interviewer Work (PKJPA).
3. Individuals who have failed to settle previous projects funded by PSPS competitions are excluded from participation.

§3. Call for Applications
1. Applicants must be junior members of the Polish Social Psychological Society (with no outstanding membership fee arrears). An applicant may apply for funding for research conducted individually or with a team, whose members must be specified in the application. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously won the competition.
2. Applications must be sent to psps.info.pl@gmail.com by June 5, 2026. A grant application is considered complete if it contains the following 3 parts (each between 0.5 and 2 A4 pages):
An abridged CV of the principal applicant.
The content of the hypotheses and the research plan with power analysis (predicted number of participants and estimated time required per participant), pre-registered on aspredicted.org – please submit the pre-registration form in PDF format (to be downloaded by the author after the form has been sent and approved on aspredicted.org).
A brief description of the publication that will result from the planned research (the principal applicant should be indicated as the first or sole author).

§4. Evaluation of Applications
1. Complete applications submitted by the deadline will be evaluated by a competition committee appointed by the PSPS Board by June 22, 2026. The decision to grant funding will be made by the PSPS Board based on the ranking list prepared by the committee.
2. The list of successful applications will be published on psps.badania.net by June 22, 2026.

§5. Rights and Obligations of the Participant
1. Proper settlement of the project requires the submission of a report describing the research results and the manuscript to psps.info.pl@gmail.com no later than June 22, 2027, as well as confirmation of the manuscript’s submission in English to the PSPS journal Social Psychological Bulletin (spb.psychopen.eu) or another peer-reviewed scientific journal by the same date. In exceptional cases, the principal applicant may request an extension of this deadline from the PSPS Board. A condition for settlement is citing the funding source in the publication: “The project financed by a grant no. x/year awarded to [Name] by the Polish Social Psychological Society.”
2. Failure to fulfill the condition in point 1 will result in a temporary suspension of eligibility to apply for other PSPS funding (e.g., summer schools, grants, awards) until a proper settlement is submitted.

§6. Rights and Obligations of the Organizers
1. The Competition Organizer undertakes to disburse the granted funding in accordance with the approved application.
2. The Organizer reserves the right to conclude the competition without selecting any winners. The Organizer is obliged to provide justification in the event of a refusal to fund a project.
3. Failure to settle the project necessitates the reimbursement of all or part of the expended funds by the Project Manager. Decisions regarding the reimbursement amount are made by the PSPS Board after reviewing the opinion of the Competition Committee.

§7. Appeals Procedure
1. A candidate has the right to withdraw their application until the end of the competition call.
2. No appeals procedure is provided in the case of failure to qualify for the competition.

§8. Confidentiality
1. All grant applications submitted for the competition are treated as confidential and will not be used within or outside the competition without the knowledge and consent of the participants.

§9. Final Provisions
1. These Regulations enter into force on the day of the announcement of the Call for Applications.
2. Submission of the application confirms that the applicant has read the rights and obligations resulting from these Regulations and constitutes acceptance of the provisions herein.
3. Any disputes arising in connection with the competition shall be settled amicably; in the absence of an agreement, the dispute shall be resolved by the competent court in Warsaw.
