Call for Applications: Editors-in-Chief

The PSPS’ journal Social Psychological Bulletin (SPB) invites applications for the positions of Editors-in-Chief for the 2027–2030 term.

JOURNAL | The Social Psychological Bulletin (SPB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal publishing empirical research, theoretical reviews, scholarly debates, and methodological contributions in basic and applied social psychology. The journal is indexed in Web of Science (Impact Factor 2.0), Scopus (CiteScore 2.6) and PsycINFO. The journal website is available here

 

POSITION | The Editors-in-Chief are responsible for the journal’s scientific leadership. They oversee the peer-review process and make final publication decisions, ensuring the high theoretical and methodological quality of published articles. They define the journal’s thematic scope and ethical standards and work closely with Associate Editors and the Editorial Board to maintain and further develop SPB’s standards and scholarly profile.

The selected candidates will begin their term in January 2027, for a period of four years.

 

ELIGIBILITY | Candidates for the position of Editor-in-Chief should:

  • have a strong research and publication record in social psychology,
  • have prior editorial experience (e.g., as Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor),
  • be committed to open science practices,
  • be able to devote sufficient time to effectively perform the role,
  • be members of PSPS or declare willingness to join the Society upon taking up the position.

Joint applications from teams of up to three prospective Editors-in-Chief are also welcome.

 

APPLICATIONS | Applications should be submitted by email to psps.info.pl@gmail.com and include:

  • a cover letter outlining the candidate’s vision for the development of SPB and motivation to take on the role, along with a brief list of potential associate editors (confirmation is not required at this stage),
  • a short CV highlighting relevant editorial experience and research expertise,
  • a brief statement on the candidate’s approach to open science and diversity in the editorial practice.
